It only works on PC if the game supports controller. cool. this game should of just had an option to turn on aim assist for the mouse and keyboard. i might look into that adapter. seems like a cool addition to the old 'borg' board. You're gonna pay $150+ to get aim assist on your mouse for GTA V? Just use a damn controller.
I do the same, and have had similar issues. & sometimes Franklin will 'look back' instead of activating his special ability when both thumb sticks are pressed together. Problem usually reverts to normal if I restart the game, swap characters or reload a previous savegame. It's more random for me. I use an Xbox One wireless controller.
Generally, I'd say mouse+keyboard. I can drive just fine with a keyboard as I've gotten used to it (Of course, GTA 5 will take some time to get used to), but generally a controller is better for flying + driving, and a mouse+keyboard is far better when you're on foot, but then again a racing wheel is best for driving, and a flight stick is best
